Meet Nocturna Photography

Annapaola Marchesani is an Italian-London-based artist and the creative force behind Nocturna Photography. Her work explores the unseen facets of identity—the hidden, the raw, and the beautifully imperfect. Inspired by photographers Wing Shya, Sarah Moon, and Cho Gi-Seok, as well as her passion for East Asian cinema and visual storytelling, she blends cinematic atmosphere with emotional depth, using light and colour to evoke introspection.

Annapaola studied at the London Institute of Photography, where she completed the Professional Photography Course. Her work spans portraiture, fashion, music, and fine art photography, capturing emotions that linger beneath the surface. Through her lens, she creates a space where subjects feel at ease, revealing their most authentic selves.
